Apple brought Sudoku puzzles to the News app in December with the release of iOS 18.2. While everyone can access a few free puzzles, Apple News Plus subscribers get daily new puzzles and other games like Quartiles. Subscribing to Apple News Plus costs $13 per month and provides access to a range of puzzles and stories from various publications.
To find Sudoku puzzles on your iPhone, simply open the News app, tap on Following at the bottom of the screen, then navigate to Puzzles and select Sudoku. There are free puzzles available for all users, marked as Easy, Moderate, and Challenging. Apple News Plus subscribers can enjoy daily puzzles and an archive of previous puzzles.
In Sudoku, players must fill a 9×9 grid with numbers 1 to 9, ensuring no duplicates in each row, column, or 3×3 block. The game challenges players to strategize and think logically. On the iPhone, players can input numbers by selecting the Pen option, tapping on the desired space, and choosing the number. For spaces with multiple possibilities, players can use the Notes feature to keep track.
Autocheck is a useful tool to verify number placements. By enabling Autocheck in the puzzle settings, the iPhone will indicate incorrect placements with a red slash, helping players correct mistakes efficiently. To restart a puzzle, users can simply tap Clear Puzzle to reset all answers and start fresh.
For more insights into iOS updates, users can explore iOS 18.5, iOS 18.4, and iOS 26. These updates offer various features and improvements, enhancing the overall user experience on Apple devices. Stay tuned for the latest developments in the tech world to make the most of your digital experience.
